In the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Moscow Patriarchate (UOC MP) stressed that the Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine, Vladimir (Sabodana) no candidates for the forthcoming elections Patriarch Russia, reported Interfax.

"Treatment of bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to its By can not and should not be construed as an official nomination Blazhenneyshego Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine Vladimir at patriarchate," - said the press secretary of Metropolitan George Kovalenko archpriest in comments published on the site UOC MP.

The reason for the statements have appeared in media commentaries, which are believed George Kovalenko, wrongly interpreted the emergence of content and meaning of bishops UOC MP to its By 20 December 2008.

Recall that on 20 December at a meeting of the Synod of UOC MP Ukrainian bishops appealed to the Metropolitan Vladimir, saying that would support his candidacy during a vote at the Local Council of the Russian church.

In this regard, George Kovalenko emphasized that the treatment is not an official synodal document, or cathedral, as "an informal request episcopate Ukrainian Orthodox Church to Blazhenneyshemu Metropolitan Vladimir."

Spokesman UOC MP pointed out that Metropolitan Vladimir "thanked the bishops for their confidence, but not respond to treatment and official comments abstained.
